Initial Teacher Training
Train to Teach with our Initial Teacher Training Programme

At Co-op Academies Trust, we believe in changing lives through education. We train future teachers to work with pupils, colleagues and communities – helping everyone succeed.
You’ll benefit from expert support, real classroom experience from day one, and a curriculum designed to help you grow confidently into a brilliant teacher.
Why Train at Co-op Academy Brownhill?
Training at Co-op Academy Brownhill gives you the opportunity to begin your career in a vibrant primary school serving the richly diverse Harehills community. Inclusion, respect and high aspirations are at the heart of academy life, giving trainees valuable experience of working with pupils from a wide range of backgrounds and developing the cultural awareness and confidence needed to teach well in a diverse setting.
Brownhill is known for its warm and friendly approach. Staff, pupils and families work closely together, and trainee teachers are welcomed as valued members of the team. Strong mentoring and professional support will help you reflect on your practice and develop at a pace that is both challenging and manageable.
Our inclusive educational offer also gives trainees practical experience of adaptive teaching, SEND support and strategies that help individual pupils succeed. Beyond the classroom, our garden and outdoor learning spaces provide opportunities to create engaging experiences that support both learning and wellbeing. Brownhill is a caring, forward-thinking place to build the foundations of a successful teaching career.
